I think it depends on your intended use. I would take the TT if long distance touring/highway driving use would be predominant and I would take the NA if quick back country runs and occasional DE/AutoX use would be predominant. That said, it is really a matter of degree as either car can do both.

If important the TT would be the better deal for the reasons above stated and the rumor/fact that it will be the last of the GT1 engines in the TT model line (so it has a chance of being a collector item if you don't use it - something not too appealing to me personally but maybe it is to you).

Really tho you would be happy with either (as you learn to drive and best use what you have)!

2 year old, old technology engine / suspension Turbo vs. new, DFI engine, Sport PASM / LSD... Hands down, 2009 C2S. Not sure why you are saying $100k for it, when all dealers appear to be settling on the 10% discount number. $100k MSRP = $90k sale. So it's not like you are taking a depreciation hit buy getting new, you're getting a 1 year depreciation discount.

A lot depends on what you like. If you like naturally aspirated rear wheel drive with lowered suspension developed on recent experience with the new GT2, the couple year old GT3, and the 4 year old 997 suspensions, etc. -- then you will like the 2009.

The new DFI engine really is something. Smaller, lighter, 40% fewer parts, >100 HP / Liter, etc. I've seen 3 or 4 Dyno "pre" charts already and while Porsche claims 385, I don't think I've seen one come in below 400 yet.

Also, the new design as it relates to intake and exhaust reminds me of my old 964 and the 997 X51 in some ways. The intake is double, and there's already an aftermarket Cup style twin-filter set up claiming huge gains and grate intake howl. The exhaust is set up where you have a primary and secondary, like my 964 was. You can do a primary bypass (X-pipe) or secondary bypass. Each is showing huge gains, but I think the secondary bypass is a bit loud.

I can pick any Porsche and I'm moving from a 2007 GT3 to a 2009 C2S almost equipped just like you posted: Sport heated seats, Sport PASM / LSD, Fire Extinguisher, Black Dials and No Badge. Not sure why you'd spend $3k for power seats unless you are sharing this car with other drivers all the time. If it's basically you, then stick with the lighter manual sport seats at $800. That would push a brand new car another $2k down anyway into the mid $80s.

Honestly I wouldn't swap my N/A Cab for a Turbo Cab.

TT - The power comes in effortless, even in comparison to my GT3 and it's a smarter decision from a financial perspective as someone else has already taken the initial depreciation hit. The torque is simply incredible. I drove a TT on the track last year and if I could only have one car, this would be it! given the current economic climate, a TT should be in the $90s.

I'd be careful with trying to installing rear seats in a GT3 as it's a car certified for two passengers and you might have insurance issues should you (God forbid) ever be in an accident.

First, I wouldn't buy either one new. If you have the money to buy a used turbo, that would be my choice. The boost is an incredible rush. And you can increase it's power a lot easier than a NA car.

Carrera S.

I found the TT heavy when I drove it.

The rush of the turbo boost was fun but that's about it.

S was more fun for me.

Frankly if you want fun then try an original 2.7RS - THAT'S fun. It's light, nimble and you can feel every last detail of the road. Throttle response is razor sharp. The nearest comparable car today is the Elise. By comparison the Turbo is a boring fat pig. It needs a long vacation to the fat farm. It needs the engineers to get rid of the anaesthetized controls to let the car "speak" to the driver. And it needs to speed up the slow-witted throttle response.

Of course it's fast, but it really isn't a lot of fun. If you want fun in a 911 then get the GT3 or GT3RS - real sports cars. But if you can't find one then a stripper 997 with SPASM, LSD, PDK, S/C, and the carbon bucket race seats is the more sports car-like choice.

Had this exact choice.....money not the decider....weight was...Turbo is a porker. Coming from a GT3 the handling also felt anodyne...

So went with the C2S...rather surprised me, but clearly the superior drivers car....
