My buddy just picked up a new 335 cab and had the dealer chip it with the Dinan software package (less than $2k and includes warranty). The thing is a freakin bullet....384 hp and 417 tq w/ no other mods!! Very nice daily driver but when you it, the thing hauls serious **** and has torque everywhere. I think its gotta be as fast or slightly faster then my C2S (w/ Softronic, X51 headers and a few other tweaks) in a straight line. Since you already have a 997, I'd go with a new or slightly used 335 over the M3 and pocket at least $20K.

I agree with the 335 cab. I used to have an e46 M3 cab, and a friend picked up a new 335 cab. I would always edge him out slightly by a half car from 30-100. When he got the Dinan package, he would smoke me and give the "bye bye" wave in the rear view mirror.

I recently picked up a 996 TTS and am looking for some payback.

Anyway, the 335 cab is a solid car. The new M3 is way too heavy IMO.

+1 I've driven SUV's that weigh less than the M3 Cab. Go with the 997.
