What is the latest nav software for my 07 997? In our area many newer roads are not on the origional. How much do the dealers get and are there other sources?

Don't mean to steal the thread but . . . . . . .

Larry,

Do you know of anybody that has gone through the PCM/NAV upgrade starting from PCM2.1 Standard Version? The one w/ no phone support (no SOS butoon, SIM slot, etc). Installed in early build 997's.

I believe the NAV update disc (99704490151) does not include the update from PCM version Standard to version A. An Update Disc 000.043.205.46.004 is required in order to go from PCM Standard to Level A. The 997-044-901-51 kit can't be used until the Standard Level firmware is updated.

Standard Version: 04035xxx
Version A: 04202xxx
Version B: 05024xxx
Version C: 05395xxx

Any knowledge or thoughts in this area?

I recently bought the street map update to the NAV. I have an '07. It was a bit of an ordeal to get it installed- they tried getting access codes from PCNA to install it and I made two trips to the dealer before they figured it out:

To install the new NAV DVD, simply remove the old DVD and put the new one in!

The updated maps were much better though- we can now find more wineries! We didn't try updating the firmware itself.

Not sure, many threads around and you may be right on additional needed software. You could try the multimedia upgrade discs from someone local who has purchased the upgrade to see if it will work first to upgrade your PCM.
