Default PSDS 3 Day Competition Course Day 2

Day 2 all I can say is "WOW"

Lots of track time, no lead follow, a couple of exercises (PSM OFF) that were interesting.

Heres another video clip which also has some words from the Master himself, Hurley Haywood.

One of the attendees is himself a POC / PCA instructor and has nothing but good things to say about the program, the way they teach and the caliber of the instructors. With that said,
Sign-up for a PSDS course, by the time you get hear the new fleet of '09 cars will be your rides Carreras, S's, and a couple of Turbos.

Enjoy the clip!!

I have only taken the 1st part of the PSDS program (2 day course) and it has been the single best instruction I ever had. Hurley was great but I learned so much from Peter Litzenberger, Cass and Daniel I still draw back to things they said ever time at the track. I want to go back and take the Masters Course and then the Race School Course when I can afford it.

These video clips are great. Thanks!

Can you ask if they would create an instructional DVD with these talks and short driving examples? I bet most of us would buy it.

MJones: In the video clip, HH says that often PSM kicks in and we do not feel it. I suspect that when that happens, the ! PSM light does not show either. Can you inquire and post back? Thanks!

I was in the same class as Brian too and had a great time! This would be my 3rd time with the PSDS crew and I'm already looking forward to more. I took quite a few pictures including a video of a hot lap in the GT3 with Hurley Haywood. Expect a write-up replete with pictures from me soon.

As for the PSM, it didn't light up at all. My guess is that it only lights up in the most extreme situations. We were able to experience firsthand exactly what the PSM does by comparing the end results with/without PSM around turn 5 (hairpin) and turn 7 (corkscrew). Definitely eyeopening for the naysayers in us.

I am gearing up to take some DE events at the PCA north east chapter for next season, however would you guys advice that going for the PSDS and by passing the DE events is a better option? (of course I understand the cost difference is significant, but its from a 'what I will learn' perspective)

If your interest in high performance driving...PSDS is the ultimate experience!! I think seat time is critical and not to take away from well run DE's, but the Barber Motorsport course combined with the caliber of the instructors make PSDS hard to beat. I would recommend the PSDS course prior to doing too many DE's. You will learn about vehicle dynamics, smooth weight transfer, and then apply these things the next time you attend one of your local DE's..this way you don't develop habits or techniques that you then have to 'break' later on. Just my .02.
