Just what I was thinking. I guess for garage queens, that may be the right thing.

For me, these things are going to get stepped on... sometimes with rocks in the soles of my shoes... if I scratch it, I can polish as need be.

Protective tape on the sill protector.. that just seem really bizarre from my perspective.

They arent that bad to convert, when you pry them up sometimes you get lucky and most of it comes up with it!!! An easier way to wire them in is to wire them into the footwell light on the drivers side.
