Odometer/Trip Computer dont match
Just looked at 2007 C2 3.6
Odometer says 21,500 miles but continuous trip computer says 30,321 miles and 4424 running hours.
Is this a rollback situation or is there an issure with the trip computers? I thought it was very difficult to roll back odometers in these newer cars.
Thanks,
dr

i thought it was near impossible to rollback these cars. Is the odometer data stored in the cluster? then i guess someone could just swap clusters. I assumed all along it was stored in the dme.
the car was nice otherwise, would have made an offer.

Anyone else seen something like this?
I've found an '06 C2S that's in reasonably good condition at a local Porsche dealership, and the price is right. Turned in off lease, one owner, AutoCheck is clean. However, the odometer is showing 38k miles, while the trip computer shows 81k/7400 hours driven.
Are there any issues with the trip computer that could cause it to read higher than the odometer? Any way this could be anything other than a rolled-back/replaced odometer?
Car was fairly clean, otherwise--no excessive wear on the seats, paint looked like it was in good shape other than some rock chips, on the front bumper, no obvious fluid leaks, etc.

My '06 is way off also. I bought my car new and have not touched the "continus" trip odeometer since new. It reads ~ 4K more miles that my odometer in the car.... of course the clock also looses time every week so it appear Porsche is still having trouble with the high tech stuff
Your trip-O is fine... it's the regular odometer (that can'e be rolled back etc.) that you should trust.

Cluster changes are possible and when that happens, the installing dealer is supposed to set the mileage in the new odometer (I thought) and/or stamp the book that an odometer change happened and at what point. So it may be worth looking at the 'paperwork' on the car to see if a new cluster was put in at around 9,000 miles.

This one will be interesting...
