997.5 spec please help (again)
So I missed the 08 order cutoff so now I am into 997.5 order territory.
1. I want to hit this right and get the maximum percent off sticker I can while still being able to order the car I want. I figure the right time is around april/may while there is still some allocation.
2. What do you think of the build spec? I really prefer the 18in wheels, but the LSD requires 19s. What 19s would have the best resale value right off the car as a percentage of cost? ie, could I trade my 19s for some 18s and get the most amount of cash? The ones I chose were the ones I liked the most.
2.1. Why does LSD require 19s? This makes no sense and should not matter to the car whether it has 19s or 18s.
3. I want a custom color (conda green) but I don't think I could get a decent enough deal with an order by the feb cutoff.
Here is the proposed spec:
911 Carrera
$75,600.00
Exterior Color
Carrara White
B4
$0.00
Interior Color
Black Sport Seats
AP
$360.00
Performance
Limited Slip Rear Differential Lock

$950.00
Wheels
19" Carrera Sport Wheel
XRR
$2,385.00
Interior
Sport Bucket Seats
P03
$3,125.00
Audio
Rod Antenna
461
$0.00

For what its worth, in depth magazine reviews on the 997.2 generally indicate that if you go with 19s on the base, you should get PASM.

Maybe once the car gets here your dealer would be willing to give you 18" from another 997 and give you the credit for the 19" has a discount ( the amount on the sticker). Try to found out why Porsche wants 19" for LSD first, they might have a technical reason.

18s have less expensive tires and are less likely to be mangled by pot holes or curbs.
Not sure why 19s are required for LSD, anyone know?
I should also add that the moment I get the car I am planning on pretty much gutting the interior, throwing in some rubber mats, and putting all the interior bits in storage.
I am also torn about the sport buckets. $3500 for two seats is not bad (I dislike the stock seats or stock sport seats) but I have not found a pair to try out yet. An off the shelf recaro race seat for the driver and the stocker for the passenger would be fine with me too.
If I could get a cup car street legal that would be ideal. Coming from a lotus, I have learned that it is not what I want that should be in car, but what I can do without that shouldn't.

You realize that the new location for the AM Rod Antenna is now on the RF Fender, not the previous roof location.
Why even consider it

Why do you want the antenna? Why do you want a performance mod like LSD but not want PASM?

The XRR wheels you spec'd would be your best bet for re-selling.
