Default Excellence reviews 997.2

The Nov. issue of Excellence has a thorough review of the 997.2 They delve deeply into the new engine architecture and rave about the PDK. This is the best review I've read. Subscribers should be getting the issue by now and it should be in newsstands soon.

Yes. They like PASM this time. They do not like std suspension, non-PASM, base Carrera w/ 19" rims.

Very positive review. Interestingly, the review implies the performance case for the C2S over C2 of 997.2 is significantly weaker than existing 997. Factors include difficulty in discerning performance differences between updated base and S engines and inclusion of S brakes with bi-xenons on base Carrera.

With Porsche now expecting 50% of U.S. 911's to be sold with PDK, the days of C2S' outselling the C2 are, IMHO, numbered.

Good article. Interesting about their conclusion that the PDK cannot replace the driving satisfaction of a stick. I expect this is true.

good article.

One thing I take away from it - they have got to offer the electronics in the sport chrono plus package w/PDK while allowing the dashtop clock to be deleted.

Very interesting that the PASM sport suspension is not nearly as stiff as MKI. Good note for people interested in tracking the car. I love MK1 sport setting for the track and given this information would certainly go with the Sport plus option.

I'm impressed with the 997.2, I think they did a great job.
