Default 2009 Marketing Book from Porsche

Anyone else get a very impressive book from Porsche on the 2009 cars ?
Included in this mini hardcover book is technical DVD, with _my_ name on it.

Yep, still haven't open mine... seems the wonderful world of marketing is really pushing the new 997. O' well, I plan on keeping mine for another eight years or when Porsche drops more 993 body style on the future 997 platform or 998(?).

Got it last week. Wondering what it cost Porsche to send all of these out? I have to agree with PT having your name on the DVD was pretty impressive.

No :'(

I wonder what one needs to do to get on Porsche's list for these kinds of things. Does the factory send this, or is it the dealership that has an allotment and then decide which of their previous customers get them?

I got a new 911 last year (ordered it) but have not recieved a single thing like this yet.

I bought an '07 and then an '08 - I didn't get any marketing material.

...because you don't apparently need any nudging,--you don't get that stuff. You're buying routinely without any marketing help!

I never get marketing mailings from Porsche. I have even had my dealer look into why I do not get the Christopherus Porsche magazine. Never received a single issue.

I used to get two copies of Christophorus every time. Some poor guy lost out due to a marketing error.

*yawn*

Yeah impressive. Just flipped through the pages, haven't bothered with the DVD yet, and probably won't. You'd think they'd use other colors to make an impression other than the fugly brown and green new colors? Those colors sure look ugly in that booklet.

Looks like they're desperately trying to go after current owners to trade up, thinking that will be an easy market base to tap for generating new sales.

I got it. Amazing quality literature. Clearly, Porsche has greenbacks to burn.

More than a little peeved that disc requires Microsoft OS.

MS discs make good long range targets... even in low light conditions.

I had trouble getting the DVD to play on an XP box ... anyone else have troubles? Kind of deflated the impression of having my name on the disc ...

Very impressive book, but what's up with those "tear away" perforated cards in the front? I don't think the average Porsche buyer is so dumb that they can't remember which model they want so they have to tear out the card to bring it in to the dealer. Are they trading cards to give to our kids so they get the next generation ready to buy?
