Default Rust on Rotors question

I usually take my car for a drive after washing and make sure that i use the brakes to remove the thin layer of rust that appears as soon as ive finished washing the car.
However last time i washed the car i did not do this and now the wheels are of(with the tyres removed) in anticipation of compelting a wheel swap.
So my car has about 4 weeks of light rust on the rotors, and my question is will this come off when i drive the car again or is there soemthing i should do in the meantime, take a wire pad to the rotors for example?

many thanks

Use that brake pedal harder, and it'll disappear quickly... :-)

Happens on my Porsches and Audi's - will come right off. Nothing like leaving your car at the Airport in Florida only to come back with nasty brakes

....or a humidifier. Mine do not. I don't drive in the rain or let it form as an aerosol in my garage.

If you oil your rotors properly rust won't be a problem.......

ImaReally CheapGuy: I know you are jesting, but as you can read from some questions on this board, others may believe you. Please be careful with what you say!

I think you mean a dehumidifier.

Just drive it. But here's a hint I employ- after washing I immediately hit the rotors with a yard blower. Water comes off and rotors don't get rusty if I don't drive it right away.

Thanks a lot guys, appreciate it. I do use the blower to dry the car after washing but in in Charleston, SC i think the humidity is just to high to get them completley dry with the wheels on.
imareallycheap guy - i always oil the rotors and have reduced unsprung weight by removing 3 of the lug nuts as well, it really helps
