Adhesive Letters Came Off

I had my car detailed today and the detailer caught the terry cloth on the Targa emblem on the back of the car and away it went. It was wet so the adhesive was a little soft. He put it back on but it was dangling by the time I made the drive home.
Any thoughts on what adhesive to use to keep them snugly in place? I don't want to damage the finish with a 'permanent' glue.
Thanks

You should be able to find (via the internet) a thin, two-sided adhesive tape. It's what Porsche used to afix it in the first place. Most likely a 3M product.

I would just buy a new emblem from Porsche or Eric at bumperplugs. It would be a pain in the *** to clean and reapply tape to the existing one. Just trash it.....the new ones are simply peal & stick and rather inexpensive.

I just replaced one on our Boxster. New one was $25.(Includes the "S" hmm..} Service guy gave me a good tip. Use a blow dryer to remove the remainder of the old one. He did say some people try to superglue them back on, a big mistake.
The blow dryer worked well, it was very simple. Used painters tape to mark the location.

He did you a favor - no Porsche should have a badge on the back - it's just a dirt and wax trap, home for bugs and birds to nest in, an aerodynamic detriment, added weight for reduced performance, etc.

Hmmm, that is actually not a bad idea. I may go for the clean look. The detailer couldn't offer to do anything. I think the cost of a new sticker would have swallowed more than this profit margin on cleaning the car.
C'est la vie.

Think about it - do you care if the non-Porschephile behind you knows what version of a Porsche 911 you are driving? Be it a Carrera, Carrera S, Targa, etc.? I give a very enthusiastic thumbs up when I overtake a fellow de-badged Porsche owner
