hahahah
I think coochas was referring to a different kind of DIY.
I like to take a little nap after the DIY

Side note... Body shop installed the bumper and lost or forgot to re-install the outside temperature gauge. HBL wants 400 buxs to replace the part. hmm another DIY?????

This is stressing me out big time... never ending...
You guys do yourself a favor and dont get hit....

I'm so close to saying F it and just sell the car or trade it in for somethig else...

Did you call Chad????????

Who did the bodywork in the first place? THEY should fix it and insurance should pay (assuming this was covered by insurance).

I didnt call chad yet... HBL did a diagnostic and if they take care of it, the cost is 400. If I opt to take it somewhere else or do it myself the cost is 140 (diagnostic fee).

I dont want to mention the shop that did the work.. They are painting my wing for free but I will say this, I wouldnt trust them if I had a civic... They had the car for over 2 months and I think you guys can agree that I really dont want to take it back to them. Assuming they do find the missing part, I dont want them Disassembling the bumping again. My biggest fear my come true. Extra parts after a job is complete...

I doubt the insurance company would pay for a bodyshops mistake. I dont believe this part was damaged in the fender bender. I think it was just something the shop lost or forgot to install.

The CEL warning is from the missing outside temp gauge...

I think im going to make the bodyshop pay for it... Its the right thing dont you think?

Absolutely . . . but I doubt they will pay if you do not give them the opportunity to fix their mistake.

Ive given them 2+ months. And they still have my wing, its been over a week for something they said should take 2 days. Its funny, I even asked about the temperature gauge and why there was a hole in the bumper. I asked if that was where the part sticks out. He said no and that he was certain the part was re-connected. hahahaha

Im such a cheap *** for giving them the wing to paint for free. Should have paid a reputable shop to do it for me.

Oh man, sometimes just a whiff of refined carnauba wax is enough to give some guys reason to adjust their fly.
There's a reason why "waxing" is a euphemism for DIY action - wax on, wax off.

Or in my case when using a high-end wax that is applied by bare hands, gives a new definition to "rubbing one off".

When one of my friends showed up while doing a car, and having a hand-full of the goo as I was "applying" it on the finish, he was laughing his *** off seeing the handful and seeing me rub it on the finish.

He said "you really need to get out of the garage more often and stop spanking off on the cars finish".

Now I use warmed up applicators in an old toaster oven.

Dayum, Jim. Can't say I've tried that yet - getting the goo all over your hands as you rub one out.
