Bruce, that's the one! The PO had the car at IA for its' annual service. I tested it, bought it, had IA install the PSS10s, do an alignment, install an XM module, and had the car shipped to Santa Fe (weather prohibited driving it back). After fiddling around replacing a tire on the stock wheels, buying a replacement stock wheel for a scuffed front from storage (leaving me a spare), I have finally gotten it roadworthy and registered.
The car came with an additional set of 19" Dymags that need rubber. I haven't decided what my wheel plan is for the car, but I definitely want to experience the car with those ultra-lightweight wheels!

i laughed out loud at the comments cole made, they were great!
the beauty of this community, no matter what else is said, is that we're here for a mutual love for p-cars. the reality is we're not all going to love all of the details. in this case, mexico blue is a detail. but, so what?! to each his own. i'd never own that color but i love driving down the street and seeing a car like that go by. they are beautiful in their own unique way.
sure, silver, gray, black, red are somewhat cliche but i think they get that way because these are colors that stand the test of time. i love the idea of a custom color car but i'm too conservative to think i could pick an unusual color and love it so much that i'd still feel the same way 10 years down the road that i feel for my plain jane arctic silver 997. it's the emperors clothes and underneath we all fell in love with substantially same car.

Dave I...great to hear from you! Thanks for the support. Minerva Blue has to be my favorite.
Edgy01-No sticker on the gas filler flap, only gas instructions. My option sticker, on the inside cover of the maintenance book reads L998 AP. The window sticker (PCNA Vehicle Locator Detail) reads variously 98 Non-metallic Paint to Sample and 789 997 Paint to Sample and 2493 Exterior Color to Sample.
I was told by PO (Russ) that the color was "Mexico Blue 73". Now I am curious.

After over a year of 997 ownership someone pointed out the color code on the fuel filler flap (Rennlist). Sure enough, there it was in fine print along one edge of the fueling instructions. I would be surprized if it's not there.

Edgy01: The numbers on my fuel sticker look like a part code <996.006.118.01>
The numbers pressed into the metal look like a part code, too<Z997.504.134.00>
Any insight? I am calling my dealer today to inquire.

thatch, most excellent color!
More pics please?
IMO, the bright M&M colors are hot on 911s... Wouldn't it be great to have one in every color?
EDIT: corrected name
