The wire runs down the a-pillar to the fuse box. There's plenty of space to tuck it in underneath the trim along the top of the windshield.

I also hard wired the radar detector in my 996 C4S coupe. In that vehicle, I tapped into the wiring for the sunroof, so I didn't need to run the wire all the way down the a-pillar. I found a DIY guide with photos here on rennlist that showed which wires to use.

Just completed the install this weekend. You guys are right. There is so much space inbetween the windshield and the trim, probably between 1/2-3/4 inch. The wire easily tucked in that space. I had to make a run to the office supplies store for some black velcro since it was black around the trim/windshield and I previously bought beige velcro.

Only problem I ran into was that the ground on the smart wire cord was too small to fit the screw near the fuse box. So what I did was cut the tip of the ground so I could pull the circle wider to fit it around the screw.

Aside from that I somewhat have an issue with the Blendmount. It limits the range of adjustment for my rear view mirror. I didn't hear any reviews of it limiting adjustment...Did I install the blendmount incorrectly? Thinking of returning it and just putting the suction cups on above the rear view mirror.
