Funny, I have a new windshield being installed this week and bought the cable so who knows this install might be VERY east 4 me without the windshield on hahah
Thanks for clearing that up Coochas. One more question, for this install did you use the direct wire power cord or direct wire smartcord? You mentioned smartcord but I believed you meant power cord.
I followed these instructions ages ago using the Smartcord - have the little controller at the bottom of the a-pillar on the dash (small piece of double-stick foam tape) - makes it easier to mute. I did this with a 9500ix, but still works with the new 360.

Ok so it seems like I would need to choose one or the other: the power cord or the smart cord.
I plan to DIY install the 9500ix and want the cleanest look as possible. I have sand beige interior and will be using beige velcro, brown electrical tape (since I cannot find beige).
Is the actual 9500ix unit that hard to mute or mark the false alarms if it will be mounted under the rearview mirror? I don't think I want the extra gadget - smartcord if it's not that much more useful
I also have Sand Beige interior and I wanted a clean look. I ended up going with the Blend Mount, and I'm very happy with it.
Nice, I already planned to purchase the Blend Mount. Now did you use the direct wire power cord or direct wire smartcord?
If you used the direct wire power cord, is it easy to mute and mark false alarms at the location of the 9500ix on the blendmount (below the rear view mirror)?

I used a direct wire cord, not a direct wire smart cord. I'm using the Passport Max 2. I will admit, access to the buttons on the top of the unit is a little bit tight. That being said, this isn't an issue for me because I have the auto mute feature activated on the Passport.

Yes, super easy to reach. I have a Max 360 on a blendmount and it's easier to reach for muting then when it was mounted low on the windshield suction cups near the dashboard. In my case a smart cord with remote mute button would be overkill. Direct power is all you need.
You guys are making me feel guilty that after my C4S (the above write up), I never took the time to reinstall the hardwire in my 2009! I'm glad this pictorial is still helping people although it was not my original idea. Cheers.

Was looking at the post again and noticed you have a Cab. By any chance is that direct wired to what's powering the auto dimmer of your rear view mirror?
It looks like you wouldn't be able to put the wire behind the roof liner since you have no roof! lol.
