Order Scrubbed
I'm unworthy. Well, not quite unworthy, but unfortunately I had to cancel (or rather, delay) my 997 C4S order.
A good portion of the fun money was allocated to a few other more-needy local causes. In good conscience, we couldn't turn our backs on programs/families that we have helped in the past in order to get a new, made-for-me C4S. It was a tough decision.
So, to be a bit more fiscally conservative, I'm left to delay my order for a bit (maybe in a year or two). However, in the meantime, I'm turning my attention to locating a used 2006 C2S (Seal Grey/Black) or perhaps ..... just perhaps ..... a 993 Turbo to get me by.
If anyone knows of the following, I'd appreciate hearing about it:
2006-07 997 C2S (6spd)
Seal/Meteor Grey
Black Interior
Power Seats
Heated Seats
Bose
A couple nice-to-haves would include full leather, sport exhaust, and sport shifter, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hate to hear it . . . doctorpcar and now you. It is getting lonely in the orderer's circle. I just hope my black/sand beige interior wasn't given a nice moistureizer when the blast set off the sprinkler system on Monday at the factory.

I know very well how hard it must have been, but look at it this way, you gain more time and hopefully once the market starts to correct, more funds to obtain the Porsche you've dreamed of.
Take your time looking for a "used" one for now, plenty out there and I can only assume more to come into the supply line due to market conditions today.
Just think, by the time you're ready to Spec your new car, there very well may be the new DSG paddle shift transmission and more power, more cooler options.
Good luck on the other issues on the home front and hope all turns out well. Some of us also have more stress due to our economy... Anyone ready for $4.00+ for a gallon of gas?
Keep us updated!!

Congratulations on a decision that you know is right. In America, there is this issue of 'instant gratification' that plagues the majority. I appreciated my car much more after a 9 month ordering process. I think you will as well.
