I would do the brake flush as it's cheap to do (yourself). I maintain my own cars and do things more frequently than Porsche suggests. Again, I only have to buy the oil, filters, etc. plus I enjoy doing it.
I would never consider taking my car to the dealership for this kind of work. I don't think that they would take as great of care with my vehicles as I do, plus the outlandish charges are insane.

The price of the car plays no role. If one says, "if you spend 100k on a car then ..." the immediate suggestion is that the car is not at all worth $100k, but you were willing to way overpay for the car. I'm not convinced that this is the case (remember there is more to the car than the parts and labor that put it together, there are other value attributes less easily priced... pricing is a tricky and complex business problem one could spend hours debating).
But I'm sure we all agree that we want the proper VALUE for the money we spend.. and that includes ANY service of the car (whatever the value of the car). So if its an oil change only, and it costs $300, that is a problem. If all a 20k service is an oil change, dump in a bottle of techron injector cleaner and look over stuff and top off washer fluid, then that is a problem if its $500. If the cost includes a brake flush , then its more reasonable.

I havnt read the entire thread but when i took my 997 in for a 10k service the dealer quoted me a price. when i collected the car the invoice was for $400 more than that. this was for a brake flush. I told them i did not ask them to do this and they removed that from the bill
