Default Take Two: Black 06 C4, this a reasonable price?

So my C4S was bought already. I found a nice black on beige C4, ~4K miles. They are asking for $76k with the following options, but it strikes me as a bit high for the mileage and year. Can I reasonably get less and if so how much?

M6N - Sand Beige Floor Mats
XLF - Sport Exhaust System
XCZ - Sport Shifter
670 - Navigation for PCM
P74 - Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package
403 - 19" Carrera S Wheel
342 - Heated Front Seats
267 - Self Dimming Mirrors
640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus

Seems the Carrera S you were looking at was only 1k more. I think if they are that close in price the S would be the no brainer choice, and no i am not trying to again start a flame fest on the mreits between an S and non S. Just saying if price is equal...

Sounds like the first deal was better. Don't rush into the next one just because you lost the previous one. Remember, another great deal will come along.

Here's the car you just missed if you're ready to shop out of town (unless you live in Dublin, OH):

I like this car, I went and drove it. They are now asking $72k. That still seems high no?

Can someone here tell me what would be a fair price? How about $68k? Is that fair both to the dealer and I? Or is that still too high? It seems decently kept, although it has a front plate holder that appears drilled into the front which strikes me as assenine.

doc,

I think that $68k is fair. Never hurts to ask for less, and let them work you up -that way you'll know you didn't leave any money behind. Helps that you've driven it and like it. Good to get CPO if possible (and walk away if not possible due to history/condition) and worth a couple of thou more with it.

Eric at BumperPlugs can probably help you dress up those license plate holder holes. But maybe the seller will agree that they're worth the lowest offer you're willing to make.

Some love the negotiating, some love the hunt, some love the deals, all love the cars. Play it whichever way you get the greatest pleasure and don't worry about the differences.

Thanks for the feedback. The more I think about it the more I think the plate holes are a problem. I did not mention it when I offered them 67k today, so if they come back and accept it, I will probably point it out.

I am looking in a relatively affluent area of the Northeast, so the dealer probably is used to selling to ignorant buyers, however they did acknowledge that business is slow lately due to the market conditions.

I know some people at CT and NY/NJ area dealers, maybe I can help you.
