tire wear
I get about 5000 miles or so on a set of tires before the car sounds like it needs wheel bearings. Replace tires and problem solved. Is there a better tire for wear? This is a base coupe with 17000 miles ready for a 3rd set of tires. This car gets zero hard use that would accelerate tire wear.

We've not seen this question for a while. Here is a poll we ran a while ago. FWIW, I've been chewing through rear tires at about a 6000 mile clip. Fronts lasting about twice that, but I do at least 6 DE's per year. Those mileage figures were on Pzeros.

Thanks for the link Mike. I am not having wear issues as in no tread. Uneven vibration wear is my case. Sounds like the 5K-8K tire issue comes with the car.

The last set of tires were installed by the Porsche dealer and they did align the car. Tire wear looks fine as far as tread across the contact patch. I will check the tires for even depth around the tire but the interior rumbling is noticeable. 15-20K on a set of tires would be sweet. This is my daily driver so 1,800, every 5-6,000. miles gets a little stiff.

I've got 30K+ on the fronts and 15K+ on the rears. 19" Contis. Probably looking at replacing them soon with PS2s, but I think I could probably get another 3-5K miles on them, to be honest. I don't track the car and most of my mileage is on the highway, but I've actually been very surprised at the mileage I've gotten on these.

Y'all aren't driving hard enough! Seriously, I got 13k out of my fronts, and went through two sets of rears in that same period. That did however include six DE's. I would guess that a two day DE is equivalent to about 1000 miles of tread wear.

Wussy tread wear report:
I now have 15K miles and still original tires (P-Zero) that came with the car.
You're right, not driving hard enough!
I think for street, RE050A Bridgestone's will go one next time.
