Hey all. I just upgraded from a '07 Cayman S to a '06 Carrera S. I gave the Cayman to my wife. Now I can drive either one. So far the 997 is winning... ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Anyway, just thought I'd say hi and post a few pics of my new 997. These pictures are from the dealer, I haven't gotten a chance to take any myself yet.

Another fellow Houstonian? Way to go and congrats on the 997S! Let me guess, it's a CPO, has 11,xxx miles, NAV, power seat pkg, BOSE, and XM sat radio? I looked at that very car a month ago. I hope you got a good deal (the Houston Sonic dealers have quite a rep). Enjoy!

Love the sport wheels. I have lobsters on my '06 Carrera and really wish I'd ordered the sports. BTW, I'd love to hear more about the driving impression comparisons between your new ride and the Cayman S. Although I'm now thoroughly addicted to the 911, the Cayman S really intrigues me...hangover from my Boxster S days.
Sweet ride, jgriff.

1. Sounds. The 911 sounds much better. The 911 is quieter at idle but louder when you get above 2500 rpm. The Cayman has a lot of power steering noise. I guess the power steering pump is closer to you in the Cayman. The engines sound a lot more different than I expected, the Cayman has a much lower almost V8 like sound. Both my cars have stock exhaust, no PSE.
2. Handling. The front-end of the 911 seems a lot lighter, kind of floaty compared to the Cayman. This unerved me at first but I got used to it quickly. I haven't had the 911 long enough to push it as hard as I have the Cayman so I'll have to reserve judgement on the handling.
3. Comfort. The 911 feels like it has a lot more room and is more comfortable. I'm 6'1" and I have a little trouble getting comfortable in the Cayman. The 911 handles bumpy roads much better. This could be due to the fact that my Cayman has 19" wheels and no PASM. I would not order a Porsche with 19" wheels and no PASM again.
Bottom line. I love the Cayman but if I had it to do over again I'd have two 911s now instead of a Cayman and a 911. I'll probably trade the Cayman in on a 4S in a couple years and give the 2S to my wife.

I wonder if you will - I mean, I can see the Cayman trade happening but after you get used to your 2S you might not think of a 4S as a trade up/improvement ????
