1. Sounds. The 911 sounds much better. The 911 is quieter at idle but louder when you get above 2500 rpm. The Cayman has a lot of power steering noise. I guess the power steering pump is closer to you in the Cayman. The engines sound a lot more different than I expected, the Cayman has a much lower almost V8 like sound. Both my cars have stock exhaust, no PSE.

2. Handling. The front-end of the 911 seems a lot lighter, kind of floaty compared to the Cayman. This unerved me at first but I got used to it quickly. I haven't had the 911 long enough to push it as hard as I have the Cayman so I'll have to reserve judgement on the handling.

3. Comfort. The 911 feels like it has a lot more room and is more comfortable. I'm 6'1" and I have a little trouble getting comfortable in the Cayman. The 911 handles bumpy roads much better. This could be due to the fact that my Cayman has 19" wheels and no PASM. I would not order a Porsche with 19" wheels and no PASM again.

Bottom line. I love the Cayman but if I had it to do over again I'd have two 911s now instead of a Cayman and a 911. I'll probably trade the Cayman in on a 4S in a couple years and give the 2S to my wife.
Bringing up an old post, I know, but I am curious about your impression of the Cayman clutch engagement point vs. the 911 (assuming that both cars are manual).

I was thinking the same thing. I thought natural evolution was to a Turbo...some guy named Darwin discovered it.
