hang on, abe wasn't attacking the chinese people, only referencing the reality of an inordinate amount of poor quality imports coming from china recently.

the word xenophobia just doesn't apply here. it generally means a fear or hatred of foreigners. those of you who threw that word at abe owe him an apology.

I would do that, definitely. I'm sure it might even knock a K or so off the price.

go fo it! <I'm really good at spending other people's money... :->
LOL

I still doubt Porsche would sanction the X51 perfromance upgrade and or allow any financial concession for it in the midst of a warranty claim for the engine...I hope I'm wrong.

And the responsibility of American companies doing proper quality control still applies...

Le Chef - I don't disagree with the American companies responsibility idea, but he rally didn't insult the Chinese as a people. I just don't see he comment as a racial/ethnic insult, but rather a commentary on recent poor quality imports from China.

The quality of recent imports from Germany hasn't been the greatest either.

By replacing the engine, doe it extend or reset the drivetrain warranty period?

Guy goes in to get takeout for his family. He and the wife get one thing and the kids get another. Kids get good poisoning. Where does the fault lie?

With the restaurant in this case. The contract is between the restaurant and the customer, not with the customer and the restaurant's supplier.

Not to drag on the OT portion of this thread, but I highly doubt the 'American Corporation' who imports such items specified lead content on their drawings.

If one sources a product to be made to a specified standard, the supplier is to build that product to print. Perhaps shame on us for not QC'ing such products.

Did you or anyone else ever over rev on a downshift? I had many Porsches and ring the **** out of them and never had a problem. I did have a 930 at one time that I bought with a bad engine. I was going to do a rebuild but sold it. I currently have a 996 and get concerned every time a read of a 6 engine letting go, but mine never misses a beat! I hope it stays that way, but I will drive the car as it was made for and hope she stays together.
