Default front air intake screens?

Anyone else having problems with trash buildup under the front bumper where the air intakes are. I cleaned mine out the other day and the was quite a bit of debris in there blocking the air flow. Leaves, rocks, cigarettes, you name it. Probably why most other sports cars have a screen over the intakes? Does anyone know if a screen is avaliable for the 997's?

I had a set of Cargraphic screens installed, in conjunction with an X-51 third radiator kit. They definitely reduce pickup of trash in the radiators. The screens are expanded metal mesh, $20 worth of material for $300. For the handy, a perfect DIY. The bumper covers have to be removed for installation. The screens work as advertised.

I'm still happy with the 1" thick blue a/c filter mesh cut to size in my 2 side front openings. I take out and clean occasionally.

Any pictures? Where can I purchase a/c filter mesh?

Thanks,

Andre

Make sure to read the following thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-forum/342532-ac-stopped-working-dealer-says-condenser-needs-to-be-replaced-on-my-dime.html. It becomes relevant with Post #6 or #7.

Not only very informative, but also quite entertaining (especially posts 11 through 31 or so).

Not starting the same discussion again, just wanted to point out that there are different views about using screens.

I like the idea of the cut-to-fit filter mesh. Now I need to find some in black although it's probably not that visible regardless of color...

This stuff is not new. It was suggested a while ago by someone else and that's why I tried it.
I am not at home to take Pic's, but, it simply fits inside well in front of radiators after you cut to fit.
I will try to do a search, you can also.

You want to talk about debris? Try having the Aerokit openings! All kinds of debris gets in these things.

I too will be installing screens. I know the front bumper has to be removed, so it also gives me time to have the coils all cleaned-up prior to install.

Wow! That does look like it would obstruct a lot of air flow...

temperature has stayed normal except on the hottest days, than slight rise in traffic with A/C on.
I take out and clean occasionally.
I wouldn't track the car with any screening in place!
