Hi,
I drove down to a track event near Bakersfield
from the Bay Area. Being careful you can cruise I-5 at 90.
I bought a spare tire. There are not many tire stores that
carry 305-30-19's.

when I bought by 996 C4S, I had to drive 5 hours to get it home (half of that in bumper to bumper traffic and my cars a 6 speed) it was great for long trips.

Default Santa Barbara to Seattle

I just drove my new car from Santa Barbara to Seattle ~1200 miles. Went along Hiway 1 to 101 along the coast. Great windy mountain roads and beautiful views.

My butt started to hurt a bit on day 2! But I just relaxed my upright and forward seat position to compensate for that.. hehe

Do it. The car is so darn much fun to drive, even on the interstate, and you can always find those one-off roads to really "make your day."

Drove Dallas to Santa Fe and Taos, NM -- roads above Taos were tremendous fun.

Different trip, Dallas to Grand Canyon, up 395 in California and through the east gate into Yosemite, then through the gold country to Lake Tahoe. Spectacular and fun to drive. Would do it again tomorrow if I had the time.

Yes driving here out in New Mexico is fun. No traffic except around Santa Fe and ABQ. Beautiful Scenery and the what hell is that car? factor in the small towns.

Just recently did a trip which mapquest said would take 10 hours in 8.5 with the 997. That also included a quick stop for lunch. :-)

Default Long Drives

I have my Porsche to drive it. I take it to the track a lot, but I've managed to put more than 13K miles on it since April. The 5-8 hour drives are a pleasure. The daily drive to work when I could take the Subway and Path train in the NYC area is a secret pleasure..

Yes, I mind very much. I once had to drive down a dirt/gravel road and topped out at 3mph

Can't speak for the other seats, but the heated adaptive sport seats were very comfy over a several hour drive

My wife and I are going to be driving to Birmingham in Oct. for the PSDS and also spending a few days in Mobile. She is a little concerned about luggage space, I just wish we had XM.
