Mat - it's a connector on the right hand side of the engine bay, affixed to a bracket on the intake manifold. Metal bail - push it in, pull the connector off... PSE is "always on" with no DME cutout.
Might want to wire-tie it to one of the aircon hoses to keep it from banging around...
My 06/06 C2S has factory fitted PSE without sport chrono and is a UK car. The PSE is on (loud) only when the button is pressed after start-up and the LED is on.
If you can't hear the difference it "sounds" like somethings wrong...
Heejin, that's without Sport Chrono, right? Your PSE button is PSE on/off only?

Yes, it's without Sport Chrono. I have PSE installed at the dealership after I have my 997C2 delivered. It has the exhaust button right next to the spoiler button.

reviving this old thread - my 997.1 just went out if warrantee and now its time to unplug this orange connecter for full time pse!
my question is, do I need to cover the connector and the plug, other than just tying the loose wire to something to keep it tidy in the engin bay? I am not mechanical at all, but seems that this may be a good thing if there is any kind of electricity involved?
Does it need to be waterproof? I do not want to drive in the rain and suddenly my 997 catches on fire...

I would wrap it in eletrical tape just to keep the dirt and dust out of the connectors.
I am interested in pulling the plug as well. Any side effects as there were concerns over doing it in forum posts dated around 2006 2007 when PSE was new to the 997s.
