Default TPMS

Does anyone know of aftermarket sensors that will work with our system?

Does anyone know if other OEM sensors will work? I see many (Ford, Dodge, Toyota, etc.) on Ebay. They all look similar.

Any issues to be aware of on mounting? They will go on a set of turbo twist.

Dealer quoted me close to $1K for 4 sensors for my winter set (previously used on 05 C2S w/out TPMS). Seems I'm already thinking of snow.

Tire rack sells TPMS sensors for under $100 a pop.

You can buy the Porsche OEM TPM sensors for that price too.

I'm assuming you already have the TPMS system as an option (MY06) or original equipment (MY07) - if you don't putting sensors in the wheels won't work since you need the receivers in the wheel wells plus all the wiring, electronics, etc.

Thanks for all the responses so far. I do have the system already MY07.

What happens if you run the car without the sensors in the wheels? I assume it keeps giving annoying warnings and beeps. I doubt I would run it that way, the sensors did save me from running on flat. Even after I got the warning and inspected the tires I couldn't tell it was low and the pressure had dropped to about 20PSI.

Porsche uses Beru as their vendor up through 07.

The sensors we sell are the same ones Porsche uses. There are only a handful (6) companies making them for everyone. The manufacturers are buying from the same pool of available vendors. I guarantee ours are the same ones that an OE wheel will have - just sold at a much better price than the dealership.
