I would never get a 997C4. TO me, the 996TT is a MUCH more interesting car.
And the stuff about the engines is completely legit. Porsche sends its engine for the masses out in the 996 and 997 and Boxsters and Caymans. But for its highest perfomance cars - the GT3, Turbo, GT2 - it uses the race derived engine above. Hand built and bullet proof and ready to be midified if you should choose to ENORMOUS levels of power.
A 911 Turbo is a timeless beast. A C4 is nice, but it's no Turbo.
