Default Great article in June 2007 Excellence magazine

There is a GREAT article in the "TECH NOTES" section of the June issue of Excellence regarding this issue. Specifically, pg. 20, regarding the question of whether buying a used Boxster is a good or bad idea.

There is a good deal of information about oil leaks from these modern flat sixes. Seems rather rarely an oil leak is actually the RMS... and covers engine replacement from crank movement.

Seek the magazine issue, read the article, be knowledgible, too.

The starting engine numbers for the Type 997 that had the updated RMS installed at the factory are:

M96/05 695 09405 (3.6L)
M97/01 685 13598 (3.8L)

That definitely looks like the RMS. I found my build date on some old dealership service invoices. Try checking yours if you have ever brought your car into the dealership for some work.
