Porsche roof rack system- need help.
How easy and quick can the system be put on the car with the bike carriers? Is it a one man job or is it easier for 2 to install and take off? One last question does it leave any marks on your paint?

It took me an hour the first time I did it. Once you know where everything goes, you can do it in 30 minutes wihtout help. It is easy and the rack leaves no marks on the paint. It is very well engineered.

If you really wanted to, you get the bars and rack on in less than 20 minutes. I take my time to avoid scratching the paint during the install process. I put my rack on about 4 times a summer.

Robbonds, I don't know of anything. I would love to have some type of rack that work like a hitch style. I do recall seeing a couple of bars that you mount under the rear bumper for a boxster to hold a rack for bikes, but don't think they would work on a 911..

Can put on and off in less than 15 min once initially set up. Simply attach the feet, place rack onto feet, and tighten up. One-man job since the rack is very light. I mounted Thule trays and got the Thule aero bar mounting adapter for them directly from Thule. Last year I was putting on and off every weekend for several months. This year less.
Only issue is that little changes in positioning can cause the rack bolts to bind in the feet. I had one break off. Fortunately the feet can be used either front or rear and there are different bolt holes for each - so I get one more reprieve before having to buy a new foot (which probably means an entire rack).

Pretty easy one man job...maybe 10-15 min after initial setup. I use mine for both street and mountain, and have fork up for my Intense 5.5. Last summer with two road bikes atop, got the p-car up to 120 mph just to see the stability situation.....passed with flying colors. Next to my wife (in remote case she reads this) my p-car then bikes are my favorite things to mount...Happy riding

Half the reason this post is the funniest one I've read all day is because PAULSPEED starts every post "Hi," and ends with "Paul." I love it. I am still literally laughing out loud!!!
