Anyone know if the chassis and/or engine is 997 based? Interior appears to be.

It's based off of the Cayman platform, from what I understand. Supposed to hit 220+ mph...screamer, but I dont care for the looks much.

autoblog is reporting their error and saying not cayman based.

but no mention of relation to 997.

Nice pick up! I guess its an original design, but not sure how they can characterize it with the mid engine layout unless they want to say its loosely based off of the Carrera GT?

UNLESS I'M CRAZY/BLIND THE INTERIOR IS PURE 997. I DON'T SEE ANY CARRERA GT, BUT I THINK THE GT1, ALTHOUGH MIDE-ENGINE WAS BASED ON A 993/996? CHASSIS. COULD BE A REVISED 997 CHASSIS?

Looks like a 997 with the rear end of a Corvette grafted on.

The lines do not flow in my opinion.

But it puts out some very impressive performance figures, I will give it that.

according to Automobile, it is based on the 997 chassis.

"The RUF CTR 3 may have taillights from a Cayman, and yes, it is based on a 911 chassis...."

Do not think that I like the rear of the car. Not a GT not a 911.....

Not that you can trust everything your read in Automobile, but I was going to guess based on the interior and the nose..has to be based on 997 chasis that has been stretched so that the rear axle just clears the trailing end of the engine.

the details around the rear window look busy, but the interior is definitely more luxurious. I like it overall...you gotta like anything with RUF on it.
