Well, at least you met your flying gates!
You can go back to flying after you get out and make some real money. But be prepared to work harder for it.

I was ready to take a job at American Airlines which they offered me in late August 2001 which I delayed because I really was not that far off from retirement which ended up being the best decision I ever made since all my friends who left where out of a job before they even made it through their class. Not sure I will fly after I get out for any major airlines but would like to get a nice little plane with full instrunment package. I did get to fly the B2B simulator while at CGSC, that was fun. Oh and yes all gates meet litlle over 2800 hours total flight time with 900 in helicopters and the rest in various prop and jet planes from 14000lbs up.

Well, I can't say I have "insider" information there, but compared to Ron Jeremy all of us here, I'd dare say, will come up a little short as well.
Honey bears??? .... Where'd you get that from?

Same here. Avoided the airlines (to the horror of my fellow pilots) and that turned out to be a great call.
Can't say each day is as much fun as flying jets, but the pay is much better.
Better than the 'average' anyways!

I had a root canal years ago and complained by humor that my root canal was a payment on a Yaght (we live in AZ folks) my dentist said, "Wow, the ortho does have a yaght." My joke was now the joke on me. Now I gum my steak out of defiance....
