Wasn't that an early skit on SNL where they were trying to out-do each other as far as how poor they were?

Thumbs up

The dealership told me 70% of all new cars they move are leases, 20% financed buys, other 10% write a check (and a lot of those are home-equity lines).

Very common that company will pay 'X' per month to provide employee car, and employee subsidizes/adds personally to that payment to 'upgrade'.

That's why I never look at someone's car and count their money. I just appreciate the car.

395,000 a year huh, well my pay is pretty easy to figure out just look up a LTC with flight pay and you got it. Now if you are willing to pay a bit more in taxes and can keep congress from taking the money I would be happy to accept that amount of money but till then I get by just fine.

Very true!

Growing up in LA, I learned that often the richest guy in the place was the dude in the t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops...

What'cha flying Colonel?

Has flight pay been raised? Seem to recall that it was about $600/month in the mid-90's.

Paid cash for my dream P car in 2005 also that year I retired for health reasons . Does that make any sense or help in knowing my personal wealth. ( Favorite quote for proof to being rich was from The Cosby sit com You are rich when your money works for you not when you work for your money!!)

Last plane I flew was an RC-12, last helicopter OH-58D, lately I sit behind a desk and would be what the average person calls a City Manager for over 14000 people here in Germany, main difference is that I ensure all houses are repaired, utilities paid etc... The answer to flight pay is that it is now up at $840 a month and I never have to fly again although I do miss it.
