Default Local too

Hi. I'm in Naperville, just down the road.

Illinicane, have you joined the PCA (Porsche Club of America)? The local region is large, active and offers a great range of p-car related activities from driving on tracks, to autocross, to country roads to concours.

Thanks for the advice. I did join the PCA, but have not heard back from them. They said to wait about three weeks, but nothing in the mail yet.

Have you done any events with them yet? If so, can you provide some comments.

Thanks!!

Hey no problem.

One of the quirks about this board is that sometimes the "new posts" indicator gets cleared somehow and doesn't reload (kinda like cookies being cleared) leading you to think no one has posted in the thread. The most reliable indicator is the date stamp of the post which you can see in the "Last Post" column. And if you can remember when you were last logged in here it's a simple matter to look at those threads of interest for posts that happened after you had logged off.

I'm curious as to where everyone in the Chicagoland area purchased their porsches from, i.e, which dealers? Opinions on service, etc? -Scott

Got mine up at the Exchange. They seem very friendly and attentive up there, but then again I've only had to go up there a couple of times just to swap my winter/summer tires and get my SRX installed.

Western Burbs here.

As others have mentioned the local PCA chapter is good. If you are interested in taking you car to the track the annual R.A.D.E. is coming up over Memorial Day weekend. This is a great event for first timers as beginners get an classroom and on track instruction all weekend long and an extra track day of track driving.

But do not wait too long as this event will sell out.

Any of you guys headed up to RADE or "Autobahn" on May 1st?

I'm downtown. I live in the south loop (13th & Michigan) and work in the loop (Monroe & Wacker). I really should sign up for a DE event soon, since I know they will fill up quickly.
