Default Scotch gard works fine

I use scotchgard with good results. Top is 12 years old and counting...average age reputed to be about 7 years according to Porsche factory rep I spoke with in Germany last year ...

WARNING - cover our mouth when you spray this stuff - my throat was hurting for 2 days from enhaling this stuff...

This reminded me I have not done this to my top in the last 2 years so I just spend 50 bucks for a brush, top cleaner and protector. Thanks for killing another Saturday for me and I am sure my wife will thank you also, however I expect she will use slightly different words to me.

I see some of you guys using the tan masking tape...which can leave a sticky residue behind when you take it off. I use the blue painter's tape and it doesn't leave any marks or adhesive behind. Just a suggestion. I got the idea after visiting a custom auto detail shop to see how they polished their cars, and that's what they used.

Good point Chuck and to take it a step further the blue painter's tape is available in a few different adhesion levels with the weakest being the best for this type of application.
