Default Thought I'd say 'Hi'

Hi All,

Picked up my new (to me) 997S the other evening, and thought I'd say Hi.. I sold my 993S to buy this, which was a tough decision as it was a really clean one. Think it might have been the right one though

Anyway, it's a 2005 with sports suspension, modified PSE, sports seats, sport chrono, nav, and probably some other things I haven't discovered yet.. It belonged to my boss who posted here occasionally. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse after he ordered his Turbo..

Dave.

Welcome and congrats on the new 997S . It must have been tough giving up your 993S. I see you're Swiss; I always enjoy going to Switzerland with St Moritz being one of my favorite places, I'd love to live there for six months a year...maybe some day.

Hi Dave:
Congrats on your purchase - looks like a good one.
I'm sure parting with the 993 was difficult...maybe you should have asked your boss to give you the 997 as a bonus!

Thanks guys..

You wouldn't believe the response I got selling the 993. Seems there's a lot of demand for good last-of-the-aircooled stuff. Nearly got my hand ripped off which didn't do much for the 'have I done the right thing here' feeling..

Needless to say, the 997 is a world different. I look forward to getting used to it.

I live in Switzerland, but fall into the 'Auslander' category (I'm a Brit). You're right - St Moritz is a great town and Engadine a great area. Good weather, beautiful mountains, good skiing, good Italian food and Swiss organisation

Hi and congratulations on the 997S. Sounds like you went from a great car to another great car.

Such a shame that your boss decided to downgrade to a turbo. But you made out!

Congrats! Mine's a 2005 997S, too. Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by "modified" PSE?

Thanks.. I'm not really up to speed on the tech stuff, but there's apparently a vacuum actuator which reduced the loudness even when in 'loud' mode to reduce drive-by volume at certain speeds (this may/may not be region dependent - the Swiss aren't keen on loud cars).

Anyway, he had it wired to a small switch and the vacuum actuator disabled so you get either v. loud or quiet depending on your mood I guess.

Dave.

Ahh my long, lost Uncle Dave. Oh wait, he died about 10 years ago...

Congrats on the car! I've owned 2-993 Cabs and a 993TT so I understand your dilemena but you made the right choice. This car is so technically superior and just plain fun-as-hell to drive which I assume you do regularily. Is that Atlas Grey?

Hi,

It's Seal grey, and is my daily driver in the respect that it's the only car I've got here.. Swiss public transport being what it is, I don't need to drive to work though, so shouldn't do so many kms. Think I got my first ticket on the way home tonight
