Default paint wear on inside of rear wheel wells

I noticed that the paint is wearing out right behind both of my rear wheels . It's not chipped just wear or it looks like wear. I was curious if anyone also had this problem

Do you have wheel spacers or the proper wheel/tire combo?

Yes, but mine looks like a bunch of little chips and I wouldn't call it paint wearing out. A repaint of the rear bumper after being rear-ended took care of that but some of the wear came back. I covered it with Invica-shield before it got bad. Area just forward of the rear wheels has the same wear on my car.

LMS makes a good point. Any rubbing?

I've got what I call major "rash" behind the rear tires on the bumper. Thousands of little rock chips pounding the soft painted plastic bumper.

I was thinking of getting the Black rubber mud flaps with the chrome sitting girl on them (like the big rigs have) as soon as they come out. That should fix it.

I've noticed some of this starting to happen on mine. Is there an aftermarket ket that I can purchase and apply or do I need to take it to a pro to have some protective film added?

Thanks

Matt

There's a kit that you can buy from Xpel (www.xpel.com). I had mine professionally installed by Premier, so I can't make any representations as to the Xpel quality. I'd guess that it should be okay as their products are based on the 3M film. Good luck.

Sorry, that is normal wear and tear. Many years ago a company marketed some very tiny 'muflaps' for the 911SC and Carreras that were not too intrusive and prevented such a thing from happening. Not sure if they are (1) still in business or (2) make anything for hte 997s.

I consider it a badge of honor! You're actually DRIVING your car!

Yessir, thats some bad wear. You definately should look into some protective film after having that bad boy resprayed. Is the front showing the same behind the front wheels?

You mayyyyybe could get that airbrushed then have a company like Premier if not actually Premier put clear film on it.
