2008 M3 Nice!
I had an E36 M3 back in the mid 90's. It was my first real performance car and I loved it. I agree that the E46 is one of the best looking cars (BMW or otherwise) ever. Was able to drive one for a short while and the 333 hp was great.
I've got 2 BMW bikes so I will always have a thing for the M3.
Don't care for the hood bulge either.

I do love the fact that it will have a V8 this time around. $60k is just the base price, I would expect a loaded example to be in the $70k range.
My S4 lease will be up next year, so the new M3 may be a possibility for me.

I like it, but I think the E46 was better looking.. They need to clean up on some of the bulges and hard cut lines. The rear doesn't do it for me. They need to come up with a better antenna for the sat radio. I think the it takes away from the lines of the car..I do like the sounds of 440hp, though I wonder how much heavier it is over E46.....
Anyone caught the I-drive (me crazy) hump in the dash. I hope they make that an option like the rest of the 3-series. I would be tempted, were it not for the fact that the M looks too much (not exactly) like the regular 3.
What I've not read yet is where the engine is in relation to the front axle line. (And I don't mean just weight distribution) If it's behind it that will likely be a phenomenal car on the track.
Remember the V8 is to weight the same or LESS than the current I-6, and the current M3 with the I-6 has a near perfect 50/50. Likewise I think we can expect the new M3 to come very close, somewhere in the 51/49 range. The CSL might be even better.
Yea the iDrive, they rationalized it by doing away with a lot of buttons and cleaning up the interior design. Then they go out of their way to make the extrior super busy. If it weren't for the BMW badge, people would think it was a Japanese car from the 80's.
