Indicated 145 before braking for 10a at Road Atlanta a couple times in my 987S. Friends tell me about when they considered that "fast" and I still do.

 

These babies do well at 3 miles a minute! We all made a great choice! it's nice to know what it CAN do, but now don't really need to anymore!

165mph in a 997 non-S in 2005 when I was test driving a potential vehicle in PA. I thought it was km/h and slowed down once I realized that it was mph Only 130mph but regularly on a known stretch late at night in my 997S.

 

120mph at Thunderhill on the short main straight-away, but never been over 140mph in a car. I don't feel comfortable even over 100mph, things happen so fast.

But on a big racetrack I don't mind especially Thunderhill, lotta room for errors

 

Indicated 178MPH, GPS 175MPH on A6. In a jet just over Mach 1. Both seemed pretty fast to me and the gas mileage or for the aircraft lbs per hour where on the bad side. I bought the gas for the Porsche the US tax payers picked up the aircraft bill and fuel, thanks.

 

I have hit ~175miles .. It was very stable; slowed down when it got windy.

I don't really agree with the saying, but I do like the ring of it.

Cayenne Turbo - 160 mph.
2007 BMW M5 - 190 mph. (they claim +200, but I chickened out.)
Elliptical at Gym ~ 90 (units?) for 30 minutes!! Now I have 500 calories to eat back... today!

 

Could be an alignment issue... or do what old timers do... 50lbs cement bag in the front trunk.

 

I participated in the 2003 Gumball 3000, racing-- oops, I mean rallying-- from San Francisco to Miami in 5 days in a '99 996. I completed the Reno to Las Vegas leg in a little over 4.5 hours with a couple of stops for gas. I drove at speeds in excess of 150 for long periods of time. During the entire event, I had the car at around 170, as did my co-driver.
One of the interesting things was that while the numerous Ferarris and Lambos were plenty fast and looked great, they had to keep stopping for gas. The Porsches were far more efficient at cruising in excess of 100 over great distances while averaging 22+ mpg. I guess it would have been less important if everyone had a pit crew.....
As a final preemptive note-- I agree with the following:
- it is stupid to drive that fast on public roads
- such an event is not a legitimate excuse to flagrantly disregard applicable laws (speeding and others)
- such driving should be limited to the track in a controlled environment
- I would never let any of my children participate in such a thing

 

140 mph in the C2S for a few seconds (I agree with adfsouth - front end is floaty without aero kit)
145 mph in a E46 M3 for a few seconds (much more solid than the 911 at this speed)
100+ mph in a '98 Honda Civic EX for ~70-75 minutes, at a time. We made the drive from Gainesville, FL back to Atlanta (350 miles) in 3 hours, 45 minutes including 2 stops for gas.

Did I mention it was raining as we left FL?

 

In my Cayenne S = 120ish around ten seconds
In my Boxster = 130ish around ten seconds
In my 997 S = 151 for ten seconds

 

Did you have any cross wind (windy day)... mine felt planted & stable (mild wind) at 130 without the aero kit.

 

Hope not on Georgia Ave..lol..just kidding.

 

I dreamed that I went 155 for a short while once; seemed real!
