Let's see now, here are the cars, and then the speeds:

1973 914 1.7 Liter-----------------120 mph (California freeway)(1975)
1977 911S 2.7 Litre----------------150 mph (autobahn, many times)(1978)
1981 911SC-Turbo 3.0 Litre------162 mph (turnpike-30 minutes)(1984)
2006 Carrera S Cab 3.8 litre-----180 mph (autobahn, a couple times >5 minutes)(2006)

174mph for about 20 min. in a Porsche 996 at 4am on the Autobahn from Munich to Nurnburg back in 1999.

120mph between yamato and linton blvd. on I 95 racing another coupe s who left me in the dust.Wish i knew what he had in the engine compartment as i could not keep up.

rented a 2005 mustang from socal to vegas...... average speed 120 mph for about 30 mins......

in a Porsche...not much. On a Honda CBR 900RR crotch rocket... 170 mph flat-out on a public highway, running from the New Mexico Highway Patrol.

I'll admit I was pretty stupid in my younger days.

It's not the speed or the acceleration that kills you, it's the sudden deceleration! I am sure you've heard it before.

About 2 years ago I was crusin in about that same spot on a sunday .I had my wifes SC430 crusin abut 85 mph.(we usuallyhave that shipped to Fl. for the winter) I had my passport S2 solo on when I noticed state police in the breakdown lane .I slowed down but no sounds were coming from the detector when I passed them so I speeded up . In about another 1/4 mile I got pulled over and he ripped me a new ***----- . he told me how I slowed down and speeded back up and also told me my radar dectector wasn't worth a **** when planes are being used.He gave me a ticket for the speed I was doing . (no reduction)
