Question Clear Bra question – Is precut kit enough, or full front-end wrap?

Greetings,

My salesperson noticed me that my C2S just arrived at the port, and it will be at the dealer on next Wednesday.

I am planning on putting Clear Bra on the car. Luckily, I live very close to Premier, and Sam from Premier already emailed me all the Clear Bra options.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area; my daily drive consists only a few miles on the freeway & local roads (no harsh terrain.) The Clear Bra mostly is for protecting rock chips from freeway, and from the occasionally rainy days in the winter.

This is my first car with Clear Bra. I am wondering if a precut-kit (bumper, partial hood & fender, mirrors and lights) will be enough for my needs? Or should I go for the full wrap on the hood and front fender?

Any owners with pre-cut kit later wish they should have had full wrap instead?

Thanks for any advice, and with best regards,
- Alex.

I had Sam do the full wrap front bumper and the full hood. It looks so much cleaner and is well worth the few extra $.

Alex, go with the custom full hood. I have it on mine and can not be more happier.

I've seen the custom work Premiere does and its excellent. Ron Adair had this done to his 997S (full front end) and it came out awsome. They also did his 993S and my 993's front bumper cover with custom work done for the RS splitters. They do AWESOME work. Well worth the money for the quality of work IMO. Pretty much just depends on how much of the car you want wrapped. More is better I think.

Funny - I got the half hood from the dealer at purchase and got a rock chip a few inches up from the end of the bra a few weeks later. I haven't got any chips since, but if I had to do it over again I'd go 'full hood'.
Congrats.

Thumbs up

Thanks folks,

It seems without a question, full front-end wrap is the way to go.

With best regards,
- Alex.

If you plan on keeping the car, custom all the way. This is not the place or time to begin saving money. Just had mine done this week. Premier was my 1 and ONLY stop!

I had the custom bumper and partial hood / fenders done by Premier. Though I've not sustained any chips up high, I suspect I'll regret not having the full hood some day. The trade off of $s is not worth the worry - go for the full hood.

Sam & Wilson are the best.

Alex, do the rear racket panel at the bottom half of the rear bumper. It pick up a lot of rock there from the rear tires. Do that when the car is new so the film will stay on.

Get the custom hood and bumper. It adds about $500 but is really worth it and looks good. Its what I did.

Let's talk money, here!

I've been quoted $1400 for a standard Scotch film job on my 997 GT3 by a highly regarded installer here in Lansing, MI, done at the local dealer. This strikes me as highway robbery!!!!!

Or, am I being a cheapskate? What are your experiences?

Thanks, all!

If they do good work it may be cheap.
