Default Tire Care

I've been searching for a while and I can't find anything on what product people use on the sidewalls to make them look black and slick. Thoughts? Ease of application is important to me.

I personally use Sonus Tire & Bumper Dressing Gel; it makes the tires very black and shiny.

What do you use to apply it?

Sonus is good, so is 303 Aerospace - nice blacks, uv blocker, less greasy

I've used a product called One Grand ERV Rubber & Vinyl dressing for years. I've used it to detail show cars as well as my Porsche. It's great - not too glossy, silicone free and does last a couple of washes. I buy mine from Autosupermart. Goes well with clear corners, too!!

You can use anything really--a rag, foam pad etc. Foam pads work best for me, are cheap and readily available in just about every auto parts store

Try Zaino tire gloss (Z 16). http://www.zainobros.com

Goes on easily with an ordinary sponge. Nice gloss that lasts for weeks.

my favorite is HT-10 grape tire dressing by Hi-temp. Not too shiny (which I do not care for) and lasts better than others I have tried. Have used 303 too but I like the grape stuff better. Available in gallon size . I don't want to mention my source because I do not think they are a sponsor. google if you wish or PM.

I spray it on a rag and wipe it on by hand for more consistent coverage.

Armor All Tire Foam. Had a 2 for 1 sale about 5 years ago and still on the 1st can. Came with foam applicator - you spray a little on the applicator, wipe around the tire, and that's it. It cleans and protects, sort of a matte finish, which I like. I can't stand the goo shiny stuff - doesn't look like a tire and it picks up all sorts of debris.

Shiny looks cheesy. I hate it when dealers, especially ebay dealers, put a heavy heavy coat of shiny dressing all over the inteior and engine bay. Idiots.
