For me, anything on your license plate frame (dealer name, Porsche, etc.) is not cool. A plain chrome or black frame looks best.

I like the plain look too, though I've recently put a 11-99 Foundation frame on. I think I'm going to go back to the plain frame pictured here

Baggerdude and UZJ:

I have given some hard thought to your frame argument and you have swayed me. I will give a simple one a try. Only question on a silver car black or chrome. On your black cars black looks great, might stick out on mine as there is no black there in that area.

With the PSE tips in chrome, model designation in silver, and that (I'm never dirty) Silver paint - a chrome frame would complement the whole package.
I wish I could stop buying black cars.

Robert-maybe a carbon fiber frame would work? My black one is actually a sealed "vault"

I got it here

I would not get the frame in the second link you posted, because it has only two bolt holes on the top of the frame. The bottom of the frame will be loose so it may rattle when you hit bumps.

A brushed silver frame would compliment the Carrera S logo on your deck lid. Overall, it is subtle and understated. I did this on my 996 and it looks good and does not scream LOOK AT ME!

Yes my first thought was a brushed aluminum but I could not find one on the internet. Will have to keep looking.

That's what they invented RTV or GE Silicon for! A little dab will do you!

Hey Robert, no Porsche dealer should be replacing plate frames and substituting their own. Maybe at a Honda dealership, but not at a Porsche one. If they do that, go somewhere else that respects your preference.

Some of you may remember that I actually negotiated marketing rights with the dealership in exchange for a discount off the car if I kept the dealer frames on until my DMV plates arrived. When they did, I trashed the dealer's and bought these at the local Porsche dealership:

Btw, I believe they also have a brushed aluminum version, if I'm not mistaken.

Ben:

Having trouble figuring out the plate. Does it mean there are only 5 of the 978 model in North East America?
