New Plates!
Today, after 5 months of having the car delivered to me in the USA (after my Euro delivery) California FINALLY got around to sending me my plates. What a wait! I was getting tired of being pulled over by police periodically telling me, "I know the Euro plates are cool, ubt you need to put California plates on the car." (Funny!) Calif DMV is really slow. Wanted something to go with the color. Yea, yea--I know, personalized plates are tacky. A whale tail for the Porsche, and in blue no less...

Nice. That's funny I just got a note from the DMV my personal plates are in will pick up Wednesday. A friend of mine also just ordered plates for his SY 997.

That's a whale of a plate there Dan.
Excuse my ignorance, but did you really drive around with the Euro plates on? Can you do that?
Is it true that the CA plate "ILEBEBAK" is taken.
Edit: On a tangented personal note, I still have the Euro (French) license plate from a circa 1955 Austin-Healey that my father brought back after being stationed in the CIC in Europe. My mother bought that car from my father - that's how they met,...and that's how Coochas was created (note: not conceived in an Austin-Healey).

While I'm unclear about "the pun" part(?), those are very nice tags.
I'm betting the front plate is not mounted. Am I right?

The plate looks good; nice blend of innuendo and colors. But the chrome plate frame complements nothing on the car and looks out of place. Also free advertising for the dealership.
Bimmian sells custom-painted plate frames - I have one on my M3 - and that'd look good on your car.

Actually I do have the matching tag up front. BUT, I did a whole 'nother way.
The pun is that these are the California Coastal Plates which show (I'll do a close up some time) the tail of a whale breaching the ocean surface.
Technically I was legal in California thanks to a small square piece of paper in the front right windshield that indicated the plates were on the way. I left the German plates on to confuse the local gendarmes. It worked!

Are you using that toe hook contraption?
