Exclamation My Carrara White 997S Was Hit By A Meteor!!!

My white 997S is now Meteor . It's a very long story but the paint on my white 07 C2S was contaminated during the factory paint process so I was able to order another car, this time Meteor Gray with Black. I requested the car only be mechanically PDI'd as I wanted to remove all the factory protection and wash/wax it myself (I hate scratches). I got the car with only 3 miles on it. I'll post more pics very soon!

Nice wheels, 500.

I never understood folks wanting to detail the car themselves (if that's a word). I went thru this on several other forums, too. Folks driving home with plastic on the steering wheel, seats, floor .... which I think is dangerous. Paper crap flying off the car as they try to see out the windscreen, too.

It's just a car ... albeit a somewhat expensive marque at that. But, I've had many cars delivered 'by the dealer' and no BIG deal problems. However, if one loves detailing and polishing their car ... sobeit. Me? I'll let the dealer do the deed.

Just my opinion.

I did not drive the car home this way, the pic was taken at the dealership. I removed all the protective wrapping myself in the parking lot; it took all of 10 mins (it just peels right off) and will wash and wax myself now that the car is at home. The last time around the get ready dept put scratches in the entire car (that's how I ended up finding all the contaminants in the paint) so I kept the car away from them this time and am very glad I did as the paint is perfect.

That kind of looks like a cop car. I think you should leave the white on and paint Highway Patrol on the side. Drive it around a couple of days and see what kind of reaction you get.

Great idea does look like a european Porsche cop car... but the wrappers were taken off in the dealership's parking lot.

Congrats!

Looks nice. Can't wait to see more pics of the Meteor color.

Sorry you had to go through that ordeal. Hopefully this car makes it all worthwhile.

Now that's the way to take delivery. I'm sure you wont sleep much this week. Take a lot of pics. I want to see this color. Good luck with your new baby. Aren't they worth the wait?

beautiful car and color, it might just be the lighting but it looks like the ring around the headlight is body color. Is that the way the cars are coming now?

Hey, Did you save that blue thing of ma-jiggy near the door panel? If you have a thin garage, that will certainly help.

I have allways detailed my cars, and always will. I look at it like a sort of hobby I guess. No one touches my car with and rags or brushes!

Wow. Looks great. Glad this all worked out for you. How did this pan out? It seems like some here have trouble getting Porsche to do what they should. How'd you get them to step up?
