As far as a fraud check, what the hell is that? the card I used, well lets just say I can do about whatever I'd like too with it, and after 16 years of using it I never had a fraud issue.
I think you do have a little disconnect in this area. Fraud is a major issue for credit cards and has been for many years. And who do you think ends us paying for it? By dong a simple fraud check this company is trying to ensure that the transaction is valid and keep their prices low. I think that is reasonable. Now what I find weird is that I can go buy $200 worth of wine and they swipe my card and give it back to me. When I go to some other retailers (names withheld), I can charge $5 and they want to see additional ID and look at me while I sign the receipt!
The issue here is to not loose sight of the big picture that the fraud check is attempting to address, and to not take this issue personally, besides the rude response you received. That's the part I would address with the company if you are so inclined.
I ordered the H8 bulbs about a month ago and received them w/o incident.
Also, I sent Hoen a message saying that I'd really like them to make a "whiter" license plate bulb for the 997 than the stock ones (which look positively antique looking with a white background plate). They emailed me within hours stating that it is currently in development and they asked if I would like to help them field test it. I said absolutely. I received the test bulbs a few days later.
Not sure when these bulbs will be in production but here are the before and after picks:
