Widebody C2S
Wouldn't you like a widebody 997 C2S like the old 993C2S? It would be my first choice- the beauty of the big wide backside, the lighter steering and feel of the RWD, less weight, etc. I love the looks of the C4 but have no need for the AWD. Porsche has so many 911 models, why not one more. They are already doing it with the GT3 RS but they are impossible to get now. Wishful thinking...

There will be another opportunity (most likely) for RWD wide body with the GT2. Those will probably be as easy to find as a GT3RS!

Also, I think the narrow-bodied 997 (and 993) proportions are perfect. But I also think J-Lo has an ugly fat ***, so what do I know.

It also makes no sense that the Targa only comes in AWD form, that the Cayman S costs more than the Boxster S yet is cheaper to build, and that GT3 RS buyers have to pay a $4,315 premium for white paint and no stripes. Of cousre I could go on...

Ditto for me. Keep in mind that when they went to the wide butts on the 4s that they sacrifice their coefficient of drag (.29 to .30) for that) and every 1/100th is hard to come by. I traded .28 for .29 by going to the wider wheeled 997S over the 997,--for the power. I think that compromise is worth it. But to sacrifice another .01 cd for looks doesn't really fit the Porsche mentaility.
And yes, J-Lo has a big butt.

KANSAS997, the 997C2 and C2S do not need wider rear tracks to improve handling; they don't have a problem getting power to the ground, nor do they have a tendency to oversteer.

I simply stated that any disadvantage in drag was made up by the wider track of the C4. I do think a wider rear gives you better stability as well. As I said before, Porsche uses the wide body cars in competition for a reason. I'm not trying to start an argument, just state my thoughts...
