Default What leather options are most worth it?

These are the ones i'm pretty sure about:
Center console
Door finishers
Gear shift trim

but what about the others, which do you guys think are really nice and which are unnecessary. Also do you suggest getting any painted panels in the car and which places are best for these

If you are going with these items I assume you are doing full leather in the car, so with full leather and the list you have I would say… perfect.

I think the door finishers finish off the interior nicely. I was all set to order the rear center console and recenlty saw one at my dealership. I don't think I'll be ordering - It's nice, but just not sure it warrants the $1,300 or so.

I'm wondering if I should do the rear center in CF - even more $$ than the leather but much more prevalent and noticeable.

I've never seen a pic of the gear shift trim - would love to see it if anyone can post a pic of it.

Agree with that. With benifit of hindsight, I would have added these options to my car - console excluded, which I got in Alum-look finish. But the regular console looks bad for a $100K car, so leather or carbon ar alum is well woth adding.

With cabrios they also suggest the leather visors, and inside light surround.

Leather rear console takes a back seat to painted or alumalook, anyday. See one that's a few years old.

When you get the leather seatbacks, does that cover the lower portion where the seat controls are? That's on the adaptive sport seats.

Eric:

Are you saying that the leather rear console doesn't wear well?

I got the door finishers, center console, seat backs, and dash trim strip all in exterior color (Atlas Grey). The only leather I added to my black/stone interior is the gear lever trim. There is already so much Stone Grey in there that I decided to get a lot of painted stuff to contrast it.

Is this a plug by the plug guy? I do agree that a painted console is an attractive and cost-effective alternative. I like leather on the things in my line of sight and that I touch on a regular basis. Consider the sun visors and instrument surround

I've also been studying the 997 order guide trying to determine which leather options to get. You are correct, the boot of the gear shifter is leather, but the trim piece just in front is not. See option code CDZ - Leather Gear Lever Trim - which is called out in the interior detail as 4.1b in the order guide. (Sorry I don't have a picture).

I also intend on ordering the leather A/B Pillar/Roof Liner option XMA. However I cannot determine if the C pillar will also come in leather. See interior detail # 1.4a. Can someone tell me if this is will be leather if I order the leather roof liner or will this remain plastic? My local dealer has never ordered this option and does not know.

Thanks, Bob

On the oh fives it's leather. I wonder if they've changed the design for oh seven.

The piece (4.1b) was plastic on my 05 coupe and is plastic on my 06 Cab. Both have/had full leather. You could tell as there's no stitching on it, just plain old plastic. Not sure if you're mixing this up with piece 4.0a
