Default Clear Bra

Hi All,

Thanks for all the great posts. I've learned quite a bit from this board while waiting patiently for my C2S to arrive. That day is almost here.... tomorrow it lands in San Diego and should be at the dealer and in my hands by this weekend, hopefully.

I'd like to have a clear bra installed before too many miles go by. That said, can anyone recommend an installer in the Orange County area? For those who have / had clear bras, anything that you can tell me of your experience, positive/negative would be appreciated.

Thanks!

they are based in SF, but do go to SoCal often.
try them http://www.premiermobilegroup.com/
they are very very good. search the forum for testimonials.
if they can't get to you soon, then try your local shops.

Yep, they are one of the top paint film installers in the country in my opinion. They can even do custom work (full hood, etc).

Prior to film install, make sure the paint is flawless. Have it polished with NO GLAZE! A pure polish such as Menzerna or others will do. Then they cam install the film.

This stuff will save your finish. A few weeks ago, some road debris was kicked up from a car in front of me, hit the hood area which the film protected and now shows some abrasions but the paint is perfect, just the film took the damage.

Regards,
Deanski

On the premiermobilegroup website, they list under the FAQ to not bring the car in with excessive dirt and they will prep the car. Deanski, are you saying that you would in essence detail the car and have it looking as pristine as possible before getting the procedure done?
Also, has anyone had the entire hood done or is this overkill?

The only clear bras should be those on women.

Bum, I got mine done in full hood and love it. I also have Sam detail the whole car prior to the installation.

I used to agree, but out here in VA, there is so much crap on the road... The clear bra has saved me more than a few times already.

Chris I agree too. Down here in Florida there is so much sand and little ricks on the road the clear bra is already showing at 4200 miles that it has paid for it's self. Even on my black car you can hardly see it. On light color cars you can not see it if it's done properly.

Also I have found that the Plexus plastic cleaner/polish is the best for cleaning and shining up the clear bra to match the shine of your paint.

Got my 2006 997 C2 clear bra done at Ultimatesheild.com The owners name is Sean Heiland (714) 412-4851. He does very high end work. All the local high end sport cars were done by him. I am very very compulsive and found no issues with his work.
Congrats on the new car!

Got mine from Sam. Find out when he is coming down or worst case drive up there. He is the best and you want to make sure he does it...GR

Had mine done by Sam at our home. Sam preps the paint first, then applies the film. He uses the Venture product. So far everything seems to be okay.

Just had Sam stop by this morning to install the pre-cut kit with custom bumper on my 05 Slate Grey 997S. He used the Venture Shield Film. They did a PHENOMENAL job and the paint seriously looks better than it did before the bra. I am considering having Sam install the full hood and full fenders beyond 24", but it doubles the cost and, at the end of the day, is mostly just cosmetic...we'll see how I feel about it a few weeks from now.
Sam did confirm that Premier is finally opening up a shop in Southern California sometime next year, exact location still TBD.
I highly recommend this company!
