Default Just got the little beast! Pics a tad big.

Ordered the 97 C2S in early August, and picked it up last weekend. Just put 700 miles on it this weekend in its shakedown cruise. Cleaned it up, and took a few pics.

I've been reading the posts fairly religiously and it has been a big help. Several of the things I've learned:

1) There are a TON of silver 997's. There are a TON of different shades of silver.
2) Break-in techniques are as numerous as there are posters. I'll probably go according to the manufacturer's suggestion, can't hurt.
3) PSE is a must have. (I didn't order it though)
4) The Off Topic board is a hoot.
5) Many of the posters owned an M3 prior to buying a Porsche. As did I.
6) PDE in Alabama is well worthwhile. I'll probably sign up next summer. I participated in the M driving school, but this school sounds like it has more depth.

Looking forward to learning more, here's the pics.

Nice wheels! Literally, I like the multi-spoke rims. Plus you can't go wrong with red on tan

Beautiful car. I love the Guards Red. Probably would have gotten it for myself, except my wife doesn't like red. Hey, enjoy driving your new baby. Break it in nice. Do get the PSE and think about clear side markers, and the Carnewall Pedal set.

Red - COngrats and Welcome. Very nice looking P-car. COmments on your 6 comments

1) Silver: Ain't THAT the truth! A dime a dozen!
2) Break-in: Good idea
3) PSE: Agreed, it sounds GREAT!
4) Off Topic board:
5) M3 prior to Porsche. We won't hold that against you!
6) PDE: Sounds like it would be a lot of fun and informative.

I suggest your first mod be clear side markers. The yellow clashes with the red. Great looking car. Enjoy!

Besides congrats, a few comments:

Great looking car. I wasn't a previous M3 owner but I did have an Audi S4 And it was RED!!!

I almost picked the Guards Red, but the wife convinced me to try a new color - Cobalt Blue.

Agree with your assessment of the forum - I learned a lot (and still am) and the Off Topic forum is great.

PSE does sound good, but I went with the Fabspeed and have been very satisfied, for much less $.

Default Thanks for the nice comments

I probably will get the clear side markers, and install a hardwired valentine 1.

...and to Bones 997 and Texas 911, went to school at K-State, but am a born and bred Texan. I just liked the picture (icon). I didn't get to celebrate our win from last week long, however. Losing to KU has brought great humility.

Clear side markers are a must. Also, might want to consider the Calibre K40 radar detector/laser defuser. It's a nice addition.
