for the track! Having a street car that's adequate but still less exciting than the Porsche makes driving the 997 that *that* much better.

I think why BMW has such a good reputation in the US is the fact that it is made so much better than american autos. Those of us that grew up on firebirds, camaros etc...know that BMW is light years ahead of the big 3 automakers in the US. I love my BMW but look forword to going to the next level in the Porsche.
